My truck went in for a CEL, & while it was there, they performed a pcm update, something about nox (paperwork says 12B333 recall). Anyways, now on my LCD screen, it does not show what gear I am in when I am driving. Not a huge deal since I've never had this feature before on any other vehicle, but it was nice. Just wondering if anyone else had this pcm update done and noticed the same thing?

Yup, that fixed it, thanks. You notice anything different with the latest flash? I won't put any seat time in until tomorrow afternoon to find out for myself.

only have a couple 100 miles since.. nothing jumps out at me..
I had mine in yesterday for coolant check, they did the PCM flash and gave me the paperwork. Also says... notify customer vehicle will go through relearn procedure may not shift conc... Anybody having any problems?

Yes, I'm having problems. CEL came on at around 20,000 miles, but truck still ran fine. Went to the dealer to have checked out. Required replacement of the NOX sensor and a new calibration reflash. Tech explained the truck would run and shift eradically until it relearned through drive cycles. More than 1200 miles later I returned to the dealer as the truck was still running poorly. Lower power, reduced fuel mileage, lots of diesel clatter from a previously quiet engine, and confused transmission shifts. Pretty disappointing to drive. Went back to the dealer and took the tech for a drive. He hooked up his laptop to the ecu port and off we went. He said everything looked good and was behaving as intended. The truck was still driving poorly. He told me he is averaging about a NOX replacement a day and many of the vehicle owners are complaining about post repair drivability like myself. The MIL codes were P164a and P2A00. The truck was repaired according to TSB 11-11-13. I believe the tech to be knowledgable and performed the TSB properly.
Has anybody else already has this work done and what was your experience? Also, if you have any questions fire away and I'll tell you what I know. I wish I could undo the new calibration as it ran so great prior to this work. Any wisdom about this out there? Thanks.
I had an oil change and the same update on Thursday last week. Already driven over 500 miles..no noticeable differance here. I towed about 250 of those miles.
I just received my PCM update NoX sensor replacement notice in the mail today. I'm headed to my dealer at 0715 tomorrow to get it squared away. Do they replace the sensor along with the update?
