Hey Chamblizi here anyone know anything about paint spot touch ups my ranchero has some nasty scratches and bruises that really need to be touched up. Mainly key marks and a couple of nicks.
My only advice for that would go towards chips, which would be using the touch up pens. And thats just to take it slow, i don't really know much more other than maybe a light wet sanding with something lighter than 1500 grit? Take a bit of the clear coat off and smooth the scratch then re-apply the clear.

how well does those pens work and i need special formulated 100% match I believe i can go to a macco and have them put me some stuff in a a spray can i need to touch up the main damage areas... It is unpleasent to see scratches everywhere.
As far as i know the pens kinda suck if you aren't a professional painter but i think the right instructions would help a lot. we had a paint-less dent repair guy that did small touch ups and from what i could tell he would apply the paint then wipe off everything but the stuff that stayed in the chipped area. I'm not sure how that works but you could give it a whack if you wanted. Or if you have a second vehicle that isn't a big deal for scratches and stuff you could practice there. I still have a feeling you will need to do a small amount of sanding to blend it all.
Also if Macco doesn't have the correct paint you could try places like Sherwinn Williams, i think they can do automotive paints. Not so sure on getting it in an aerosol can but you might get lucky.
