A lot of guys have done it. If I recall they have to open up the holes for them to fit. Personally I feel it is unsafe, but maybe some one who has actually done it will chime in.
The Gen2 wheels are Hub-centric, meaning they center on the hubs, not the lug-nuts. The '92-96 hub center is the same size as the Gen2's, which means they will seat and "center" on the hub. The bolt pattern is slightly off. Drill the lug holes on the wheels out with an 11/16" bit and file them slightly, or drill them with a 45/64" bit and be done. You'll have to find some 1/2" lug nuts with the floating washer attached, similar to what super duty trucks use, but in a 1/2" thread. They can be found online.
Good luck
I have personally done it. I have a set of drag radials on '99 Lightning wheels I have used on my Lightning, and they will be going on my '92 with stock Lightning sized tires.

What he said. I have done the same thing mounting 99 lighting wheels on my 94 lightning
Well, I would like to retract my initial statement and say: It can be done with modification... Might have to look into this... There are alot of really nice 5x135mm rims for cheap on the local craigslist...

Just be aware that not all wheels that bolt pattern are hub-centric. If they are aftermarket wheels and come with conical seat lug nuts, it won't work.
Yes they fit, have them on 2 of my 92-96 trucks,I went one step further and bought the lug nuts from lmc and got the studs from ford, I replaced the studs and after drilling the rims, they bolt right on and off,4 yrs no issues. The larger rimms will hit the frame on really tight turns. If you don`t crank hard, there ok,Lowering your truck may give issues with these rims as they take up almost all the wheel well.
