Your best deal/Favorite Ride
Mine was a 66 Fairlane 500, 2dr hardtop. Paid $200 for it, clear title, 289 C4. Took out the bench seat, installed a pair of hiback buckets.
Second was a 65 Thunderbird, 390, C6 (Cruise O Matic), guy wanted $300 for it and was building a T-Bucket and wanted Ford parts for it. I swapped him some stuff I had in the shed, and $60 cash for that car, clean title drove great!

Where do I start?
I paid $250 for a "parts car" '69 Chevelle 2 door hard top. I drove it home, and checked it out. It passed inspection and I drove it for a year before I parted it out.
I paid $300 for another '69 Chevelle and drove it for years "as is" until I started to fix it up.
I traded a cheese steak and an order of fries for an '84 Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 pick up. (it ran and drove)
I bought an absolutely BEAUTIFUL '68 Galaxie 500 four door hard top for $50. Black with red interior. Not a stitch out of place on the inside, not a scratch on the outside. ...Flawless. Just had a blown engine and the owner didn't want to deal with it.
I bought a '65 Olds 88 with a 425, TH400 and 12 bolt posi for $100. Drove that one for a while also.
I got a NICE '70 Charger SE for $250 less engine and trans. (this one still hurts when I think about it. I should've kept it)
There were LOTS of dealings and trades done over the years. These are some of the highlights, though.

sounds like some great deals .. i made a few good deals on cars 40 years ago myself, i had a used car lot in alexandria la. in 71-75 muscle cars were just about given away in the days of the fuel crunch.. now if anyone has any running pre-1970 cars for 100.00 let me know..i'll even toss in a burger or two...

My best 'deal' was my 68 Ford Custom 2 door sedan. Tan on tan, 302, c4, 8" rear axle. Factory A/C(didn't work) and radio delete. Got it from my brother when he went to college on terms that I fixed it up. It need both rear quarters replaced and interior redone. He'd taken out the original bench front seat and installed a pair of Escort GT highbacks that I threw in the trash. New carpet, recovered the seats and interior panels. Only things not new on the inside was the dash and headliner. Dash was beyond saving(cracks) and headliner was in great shape.
It's still in the family, gave it back to my brother in exchange for a 96 Ford Windstar that got T-boned about 6 years later. He still has the '68. I want another.
BTW, a '68 Custom 2 door sedan is the same thing as a Galaxie, but it's not a Galaxie.

Favorite was probably my 2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer. That thing was loaded (2 or 3 options from a Navigator). I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of that one, but my wallet thanks me.
Best Deal would be the Crown Vic in my signature. Technically it wasn't mine (g/f titled in her name and had insurance on it), but we paid her grandma $200 for it, I drove it 3 1/2 years and put over 60k on it before her tranny burned up. Nothing to look at, no windows that roll down (but fall down on their own), you had to open the driver door either through the window or from the back door (door panel caught on door jamb), but hey, for $200, who's complaining???????

When we got the car, the driver window still worked, the back 2 doors, I believe, had the window motors taken out completely, and the passenger front had a bad regulator, I guess. Never got to dig into it to find out. About 2 years ago, the driver side regulator went bad. You could pull the window down and back up again, and every once in a while, the motor would catch something and it would go up on its own (but never down).
The door panel cracked and started sagging on the back rear corner. This was fine and I was ok with it, as it didn't always get caught. Enter mother-in-law, who, instead of checking with me standing 10 feet away, rips the door open, or I guess I should say, ATTEMPTS to rip the door open. Yeah, that was the final straw for that door panel.. From then on, it was always caught.
And so I say, anyone want a demo derby car????????

Well a little late to this one, but the best deal was for a 1967 Mercury Cyclone GT 2 door, 390, auto on the floor, factory tach, bucket seats, hood scoops.
Had a big tail end, but the front looked like a bad ma'ama jamma....bought $400 run and drove just didn't like to stop. After a power brake booster and got it to stop, like a 14 year old kid does, my Dumb **** sold it for $600.
Then on to the truck scene I came, with that $600 I got a 67 F100 with a swapped in 429, 50's on the rear and go fast primer grey and rust as the custom touch, but it had a bed side tool box and NO exhaust it was LOUD.
Then it snow ***** into a bolivian of vehicles....maroon /white 73 was next, yes it was 2 wd and yes that is a mud bog pit I drove it into (won in my class BTW). Followed by the original "ol Blue".

Well here is what happens when you are 19 or 20 and well coming home from the bar.....lucky is was just the truck and a fence that was trashed.
Rolled it on the passenger side, wrecker rolled it back on all 4, I put 2 gts of oil in it and fired it up and drove it for 6 more months till I went to Germany. Sold it to the guy with me when I rolled it.....
I had just put on the new back bumper and the rims the night before.
