2000 excursion v10
so a buddy of mine has a v10 excursion and hes worked that thing. he used to be able to get 14mpg if he was good to it. i have a 5.4 and can get 15 if im good to it. mine is straight piped and still has the cat. he is only getting 10mpg now and dont know what it is. he thinks that cat is clogged or somethin. i told him to take it out and put a pipe in there. i also told him to tune it to maybe help with mpg. any suggestions on getting better mileage. ithink it has about 240k on her. ive heard to leave the cat in 5.4s but v10s are different and idk if that would benefit him. i need suggestions.

wheels all spin freely. gonna change the pcv soon. what does it consist of and how does it come out. he did also put some bigger tires on it. they are 285s and a bit taller but not much. so some might just be that the speedo is off. any other suggestions and mods to increase mpg on a v10?
