05 f350 stalls twice while going down steep hill wont restartnow?
While I was towing a trailer down a steep hill the truck abruptly stalled and won't restart. It stalled 2 times before when I was coming to a hard stop but it restarted fine. I just replaced the batteries and fuel filters 150 miles ago. Towed the truck 130 miles home with my 99 7.3! any ideas where to start before I bring it to the dealer. thanks for any help. 05 f 350 w/ 138k on it

45 hits and Nobody give a guess ??????????? I know can be BRUTAL if wrong LOL
05 going to take a STAB at it and say HPO problems
maybe a loose wire since it did cut out on a hard stop or whatever
But more than likely a HPO STC Fitting blown out
need to monitor ICP and IPR% for HPO concerns
got any gauges??????????

The 6.0s run off of high pressure oil the injectors need minimum 500psi at all times just for the truck to even run.
If the ipr is blown it won't regulate oil pressure and the truck will never start.
Let me ask you this, does it have factory OEM oil filter cap? How about a motor craft of fram Part # CH9549 oil filter?

Thanks for the all the info. The truck has been sitting since sunday tried to crank it again today and no fire. I disconnected the ICP while the key was in the off position and again no luck. I do not have guages so I was going to pull the turbo, check for oil leak around hpop stc fittings etc and probably just replace the IPR. I wanted to clean the turbo viens anyway so, my thought is I should replace the IPR anyway while its out.
Does this make sense? I
Also I do have the stock the oil filter cap. Gonna dump the oil and get a motorcraft filter as well. Anything else I should do as well, while I am in there?
Thanks again

You can start the truck without the turbo in after you install your new IPR
All you have to do is from that metal oil feed line to the turbo have it fed to inside the valve cover....
Atleast you'll know if its the IPR that caused your problem....
After if you have to do the STC fitting(Which now would be a good time since your right there) you wont have to remove the turbo again....
It will take a few crank cycles for it to start again.

Sweet I will try that once i get a new one. I think the missing screen is sitting inside the port where the IPR unscrewed from. I can feel something floating around in there with my finger and looked with a mirror looks like a black plastic piece (almost like a peace symbol) Should I grab some needle nose and eaze it out?
