BTS trans?
The 'wait' is if it rebuilds yours in-house. Brian has some already built and sitting on his shop floor. He can send you one of those and you and your friends can install it. It will come in a shipping container and you ship your old one back to him. I did this when my original tranny shelled...... So what could go wrong with that????
The guys I got to install my new BTS screwed up royally. Did not torque the flywheel bolts. Left out cross member bolts. Did Not Clean out the 7.3 cooler and hoses and tons of Crap got stuck in the valves of my New BTS. My full story is on one of these threads, sad reading, but it is not the trials of my old tranny and bad installation, but it shows how much of a stand up guy Brian really is. He said that if I could get it to him he would rebuild it again for free.... full warrenty. My fault, his fault, crappy installers fault... did not matter, he would back up his transmission. I drove my truck and 30foot camper fully loaded for 250 miles with the center shaft broken, smoking and puking oil. Going 20mph up hills and out of control at 50mph down hills. I did not let my rpms get very much over 2,000. (the tranns was a goner, but I would not harm my engine) I called Brian half way there and said that I had really fried the tranny, but was still moving. He said that if it is moving, to keep coming his way and that he would start on the rebuild when I got there. Even after I had totally destroyed the tranny it was still pulling my camper. Once it was totally rebuilt..... total cost was for a new 6.0 trans cooler. We had pulled the camper to a campground a few miles from BTS. The next morning I called Brian and told him that while he was working on the tranny to install a new 6.0 cooler. He said that he had already pulled the 7.3 cooler and had already installed the 6.0 and he said that he would not charge me for it as he would not let my truck out of his shop with the old cooler in it.... Brian was going waaay beyond the warranty. I said that was why I called and as the very least I could do is pay for that new cooler (450.00 total cost for all of this service). Brian's men even changed out my transfer case oil and topped off my wiper washer fluid (they told me about the transfer case oil and I knew that my wiper fluid was low, but when I checked to fill it up.... it was full). I will stop here, but if you get one shipped to you. Talk to Brian on how your installer should handle the installation and cleaning out the cooler lines.
The best thing about going to BTS is what I'll call 'BTS College'. You can stay with your transmission all day and SEE how it works and WHY Brian's build is better than anything a 'local' shop even can do. Beyond that, you can pick Brian's brain about all things PSD and learn as much about your truck as your brain can absorb.
After watching my trans go together and learning why a BTS build works the way it does - I have no fear that anything I will ever do to it will hurt it.

Unlike some of the other builders, BTS just offers one transmission. If its good for a 900hp pulling truck - it'll be FINE in my tuned, stock Excursion!!!
