Noticed the drivers side mirror on my '09 has a rust spot in it. Upper RH side of the flat glass. I know the truck isn't new. It was built in late Feb and delivered at the end of April 2009. Meaning it doesn't quite have 3 years on it. Were it not for the 57,000 miles I could try to get the mirror warrantied. Or the radio that's shot(see https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...e-stripes.html). Or the drivers side speaker that works when it wants to. All issues that aren't mileage related but my mileage was beyond 36,000 when I bought the truck last spring.
Anybody else have a rust spot? This truck came from the south so it has 1 winter on it. ONE WINTER! And it was a record light winter here as well. My '96 has no rust spots on the mirrors. I drove that Ranger full time throught 7 of the winters I've owned it. I looked at my '76 Firebird out back and it has no frame left in the back but there are not rust spots on the mirrors. I hate to say cheap garbage but based on what I see (and what I saw working in the auto industry) cheap [Chinese] garbage is probably the answer. I'm not picking on FoMoCo per se, just autos in general today. I know they don't last forever, but this is my newest vehicle in the fleet right now, and when I purchased it at the ripe old age of 26 months was the newest truck I've ever bought. /rant
