1st tow!.. YEEEE HAW!!!, and trouble

so we loaded up the trailer with our custom truck for the 1st show of the season.

nice tow over.. nice show..

one 1st in our class, and best in show!!!.. amazing.. we donated the winnings ($500) back to the Girls & Boys club..

loaded the truck back in the trailer, made the loop around the parking lot, and some other folks stopped us.. leaking fuel from the F250..

yep, sure enough..

right were the frame bends coming down from the engine. WAY in front of the filter..

never a dull moment..
Roadside Assistance was great, (and should be for 626 miles)..

and we got a ride home..

I wonder what could be leaking. I remember nearly two years ago there was a similar failure of one of the first 6.7L trucks made. Turned out to be a broken HPFP dumping fuel everywhere. I doubt that's what yours is, but I'm very curious to find out exactly what failed. Please keep us updated!

yeh.. the pump & filter are much further back than this.. this is forward of the tranny mount crossmember.. the pump & filter are behind the tranny mount.
and this is POURing out.. .. I will upload a video to youtube later (170 meg for 1.5 mins and we are on a slow network)..

Sam,

My new 06 wouldn't crank when I left the tag & registration office; parked in front of office, angle parking, narrow downtown street. Fun for flatbed wrecker. Late Friday so it was Monday when I got it back, drove it to work, went to leave work, and ditto again.... This time they replaced starter.

Point is that truck never had another problem and was one of the best I ever owned; I hope your's works out that way too.

The 55 looks real sweet; fine looking ride.

Looking forward to reading what the root cause is.

Bob

That's the LPFP.
The HPFP is in the front valley of the engine.

video of the trail..

trailer loaded, truck started, waiting for someone to move, then around the parking area, before being flagged down by some other folks parking here for the car show.

lol - nothing they can do about it if they tried...and we know they would.
I think they would argue with a brick wall and try to win.

Anyways, that's quite a leak. I know you'll keep us updated.
