New here in NV
I have been a professional mechanic for many (too many) years and have owned a few Fords over the years. Some great vehicles ('59 Pickup, '70 Comet 351w), some heaps (highly modded '89 F150). I have owned many other makes as well, some great, some not so much.
I have been looking for a cheap pickup for a while now since I have been "truckless" for almost a year now (one of the few times in my life ). I don't need a truck too often, but sure miss not having/ driving one sometimes. I was looking for an older 1/2 ton, cheap, but not needed extensive work, and came across this one, and couldn't pass it up. It's an 89 F250, 2wd, 460, auto with 142K miles on it, real nice shape for $1500. Was owned by an old lady and was her hubby's truck and he passed away about a year ago and it is too big for her to drive.
I have had it in the shop and gone over it real well. I have had to do some minor repairs/ maintenance type work but all in all, real nice truck. Only problem I am having is with the oil cooler lines, they are seeping and finding replacements is prooving difficult. I will likely have to take them off and get some made.
Congratulations on your 89, I just bought a 93 reg cab XL long box for a light duty farm truck. It sounds like you`ve had a nice fleet of Fords. I like riding motorcycles too.
