I was out today at the local gardening store and saw a black Flareside pickup in the parking lot with a "for sale" sign on it. I noticed the current owner making his way towards it and asked him what year, how much, etc - all the usual questions.
Long story short, I got a 1992 Flareside, black on grey, 5.0 engine, auto, 4X4 and working a/c for $4500.00 and he is getting it certified and drive-clean inspected as well.
I enjoy the 92-94 Flareside trucks, I think they are one of the nicest looking Ford trucks ever made. My current 1994 Flareside is something I only drive on weekends, etc - so it will be nice to have one that I will drive to and from work, etc. The 1992 that I just got has 130,000 kms on it (Approx 78,000 miles) and looks well cared for. Its basic stock, right down to the am/fm-casette and single exhaust - so there are a few minor upgrades I plan to make.
Now I have 2 Flaresides in an area where I don't see many on the road to begin with....I feel special
Wow! Almost sounds too good to be true! I have a 14 year old step-son who loves Fords and we are starting to look around for him a truck. His dad's been putting aside a few bucks a payday since he was born, so we may be able to swing something like that.
As soon as I get the time, a buddy of mine is going to drive to Terra Cotta with me and I'll take some pictures of both my Flaresides side-by-side and post them in my gallery.
