Tailgate question
Don't forget:
I have an 1985 Ford F-350. I wanted to put a '87 or a few years up, tailgate on it. One problem - on the 1987 an up tailgates, the latch onto the bed by grasping striker bolts (like your door strickers), while the 85 - 86 grab onto bar type holds.
When you open the handle on the '85, this pulls in the latches that stick out and grab the bar holds. The 87 and up unlatches the tailgate by causing the latches to open (but they are perpendicular to the pulling rods that connect to the tailgate)
I think you will have to add the striker bolts somehow, but you most likely will have to remove the taillight lenses.
