But hey, its your truck, you can put a 13 inch wheel with a 21 inch tall tire on it if thats what you need to do to get it to "sit right".
Well now yer just being a silly rabbit!

It's wearing 30x9.5x15 on all fours right now and doesn't look bad... but it looks like something is wrong with the suspension more than it visually conveys that itsa modified Bump.

.. tomorrow is another day.

How about air shocks? They won't carry much load but might get the back up to where you want it.

That's not a bad idea. Hmm... I might have to look into that. This is after all going to be a quasi-shop truck. I'm out of room for any more vehicles and planning to move on and build blue oval engines.

I have a set of Monroe air shocks on the back of mine and you can sure put it where you want it.

I had air shocks on my last one. They worked really well for adjusting the hieght when it was empty. But don't expect to put a load of dirt in the bed and raise it back up.

I pull trailers a lot in the summer keeping up some of my rental property and it is surprising the difference 25 or 30 lbs. in the shocks in the way the trailers handle, especially a two wheel trailer. I run them on all my trucks.

My F150 has them. They're great. Cheap too. They might not work with your axle flip though.

HIO how goes it?
Were you able to wrap up your exhaust portion of the build?
Front suspension looks good.

Air bags are the new air shocks and much more effective. I believe the basic firestone units can still be had for around $70. Friends don't let friends use air shocks.

x2 on the air bags. On board air and in cab control would be nice.

Air shocks don't ride very well and are really just a band-aid for saggy suspension springs or, springs that don't have enough rating to support the load being placed on the vehicle.

Air shocks also place a lot more load on the shock mounts than the mounts were designed to handle. --this goes back to the suspension springs. The springs are designed to set the vehicle height and to hold the vehicle and its loaded weight up. Shocks should just be for the purpose of controlling jounce and rebound of the axle. Not load support or vehicle lift/lowering.

It goes well overall.

The exhaust was literally "wrapped" last weekend: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14965911

Are you worried about torque flex causing the pipes to to hit in the pass thru's you made? What have you been able to do to combat that?

No.. not overly concerned. The engine doesn't rock very much and the tubing is pretty much centered with 0.5 to 0.75 clearance all around. If it does hit then I'll cut and modify the X-member until it doesn't.
