Rusty Panels
I have a 1986 Ford Ranger, it has been a labor of love for many a years. My dad bought it new, and I got it when I turned 16. Well I need some help hunting down a panel, I need to replace/fix the front lower door post, some call it a dog leg. I need to know where I could find one of these. Does someone make one, or do I have to cut it off of an old truck. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Are you referring to the inner part of the cab front around the door? If so I don't know of anyplace to get a panel, you might be on your own. As a matter of fact I have the same problem. You could get a piece from a junk truck maybe. If you looking for body parts you can try Truck Parts and Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford and Dodge Trucks from LMCTruck.com or Early Bronco Restoration Full Size Bronco Restoration Classic Ford Bronco Parts For Sale or even RockAuto Auto Parts . I found a really nice new rocker panel on craigslist for $10. A nice bed for $150 among other things.

well been doing some searching and been coming up empty. I began to wonder could I use the rocker panel from a four door explorer? I could cut the bend I need off the front of the panel and discard the rest. I know it would be expensive, but I am really at a loss for what else to do.

how bad is it? You could with some simple tools make something out of sheet metal. you can also try www.fordparts.com to see if ford still has what you need
