another non-ford auto question
I'm restoring a 67 caddy sedan deville. The engine I'm using is a small journal 327 out of 60's chev 1/2 ton linked to a turbo 400. My problem starts with developing a system to make use of the electric detent downshift switch on the transmission. The original engine (429 caddy-4bbl Q-jet carb) had a switch mounted on the intake which had a small plastic shaft that connected to the carb that sensed throttle position. The carb(a Q-jet off a 76 olds 455) and intake(edelbrock performer) i'm using on the 327 now have no provsions for this switch. Is there any system that will work with this combo or if not, will leaving the switch unhooked damage the tranny. thanks.
