Trailer construction, input needed
It measures about 6' wide, and about 7' long.

The box is pretty heavy, I plan on putting some heavy stuff into it, like tools, engines, etc. So I want to make it as strong as possible. Ill be towing it with my car mostly (1996 Caprice) So I would like to keep the tongue weight as low as possible.
And, as the car is pretty low to the ground, too.
I got myself some scrap 2"x4" x14' metal, and a trailer axle from a tent trailer.
Now, Im thinking about how to make it.
Idea #1

Simple box with an 'A' tongue built into it. Pink line is an idea I had while making it from paint, then use a receiver like so:
But, with 2x4 tubing, I don't know how I would make all the parts come together.
I imagine it would look something like this

But, I don't think it will look that good with such large tubing.
2nd idea was to just make a box, and weld the 'A' tongue below it, like so:

And, will the longer the tongue be, the easier to lift, like a lever? Or do I have it backwards?
Ideas? Thoughts? Opinions?
