How can the choke tube connect to the exhaust manifold since there is no place for it to do so? This is a 460, not an FE engine, has an entirely different setup.

See what I typed inre to C8VY-9C869-A in post # 27.

I was thinking about a manual conversion but I think I will try and fix the heat tube first. Right it is 460 not an FE but I think the idea is still workable just bend the tube to go from intake to carb, looks like the fresh air tube is okay just hooked up to the wrong place and if the part whuich projects into the manifold is still there should work. Looked at a 'help' section on line as recommended and looks like they may have the parts I need.

Good thing is I went to pick and pull today and found the connection to the vapor canister I was missing so maybe getting closer.

Looks like I may have work the next couple of days man that is going to put crimp in my truck time but will try and post results this weekend!

Thanks again for all the input, way better than going it alone that is for sure!

Well hot air choke works like a champ! Picked up a choke tube kit and a new thermostatic choke housing and getting hot and opening as it should!

Thanks everyone, now on to the next challenge

Thumbs up passed SMOG!

Wanted to give you guys a quick update; Decided to take the '78 F350 in and try smog, thinking at least I would have a place to start. It still seems to be running rich and ideling is a bit rough. Long story short Passed Not with flying colors but hey it passed now I can take some time to get it dialed in without sweating the deadline.

Thanks again for all the help.
