Bench Seat Information

I think I know the answer to this but I want to be sure before I buy.

Will a bench seat from a '62 fit in my '66 f100?

Dumb question I know but I don't want to waste my money buying a wrong seat.

Thanks guys

Should bolt right in unless someone has changed out the seat to something other than what came stock in the truck.

What seat is in your truck now? I do not recall.

I have a extra 66 seat if you need one but bottom needs to be redone.
Freebie if you want it.

I didn't see you post until today!

I went ahead and bought the seat for $40 on Saturday.

The current seat in my truck is most likely from a 80's truck, there is nothing on it to identify it.

61 to 66 are slightly narrower than 67 to 72. and 73 to 79 are slightly longer.

The 61 to 66 brackets bolt to any ford bench seat from 61 to 96. The 73 lower floor brackets are longer and do not fit.

Later seat in a '66

I seem to remember I once did this, got a nice seat, but the seatback would hit the arm rest when flipped forward. It worked fine with both doors open. Is that the problem you're alluding to Garbz2?

Yes,

I have nice Rod Doors panels and rests and the bench seat hits them if i move the back forward. Have to open the doors. The also just hit the stock ones. The 61 66 seat just clears them.

You people with your fancy armrests! Just roll the window down and use the sill!

Remove 1 of the arm rest, figure the passenger can hang his/her arm out the window. Swapped 65 seat for 86 Lariat, tracks had to be swapped, very pleased with results, center arm rest folds down now both passenger and driver have an arm rest, and it has cup holders.

Just swapped in a seat from a 95 250 into mine. It is wider but i dont have arm rests so it wasnt an issue. Its about a million times more comfortable than the one i had from a 65

Hey Buzz... I think you've got cup holders but don't know it. They are very unobtrusively integrated into the glove box door. Very elegant design. A bit more luxury than a man needs ( I've got the right side visor and door lock too! ) but if you've got it, flaunt it!

6t6merc you just gave me an idea for another little welding fab up project. Make actual cup holders out of those indents they fold up out of the way when not in use.Im pretty sure I have a few extra glove box doors. Your right I didnt know slicks had those guess Ill get myself a few slicks in that case. Yeah with all that creature comfort I bet you are feeling spoiled.

I always thought those were there to set your hot toddy on a level spot at the drive in. Anti beer slipage is good too.
