bought the truck with abs light on, changed out rear shoes, wheel cylinders, drums an hardware kit, bled system from back to rabs to front. Lights still on. I need help on where to start looking to fix this ? Has to be perfect, wife will be using it.
Thanks in advance for your help
Look under the dash near the parking brake pedal for a black wire with an orange stripe and a connector on the end of it. With key on and the ABS light on, ground the black/orange wire connector momentarily, the ABS light will then blink out a code. This may point in the direction of the fault.
However the first thing to check is that your brake lights (both) are working properly.
Any code you get will be either a single digit code or double, from 1 to 16.
Another common problem is the RABS sensor on the top (off to one side) of the rear differential housing. Sometimes just removing it and cleaning it can help. Also check the condition of the wiring to it.
If it is a problem the trouble codes should point to it.
