O/T...2013 Mustang

Not truck-related but have you been watching the commercials on TV for the 2013 Mustangs? I haven't been too excited about a new car in quite awhile but this Mustang has really gotten my attention. Wow...

If only they weren't so HUGE! I wouldn't even get the V8 model, the 6'er has plenty of power.

The HP wars are back!
Now if they wouldn't have killed Pontiac... The V8 Solstice they had ready to go would have killed all of them! My little Turbo'd 2.0 L kicks all but Z06 and Lotus's butts.

The Boss 302 looks like a really nice car, but the price is out of reach!

I looked at the dealers here locally and there are only a few available right now but one of them has a black on black GT with the new 5.0 L engine and a 6-spd. 3.73 posi, nav, leather, backup camera, etc, etc....all for a measly $41K. Still too early in the year to find a deal but since the wife likes them too I think that there may be one in my not too distant future.

I have a triple black 2012 Mustang convertible with the V6 and a 6 speed. 305 hp works just fine and the insurance rate is affordable. My 93 Mustang GT had a V8 and it was only 225 hp, after spending a small fortune it had 426 hp at the rear wheels.

Since we're off topic, When I see a Mustang, from 2005-up, it just screams "Mustang!" to me. In my opinion, the designers have done a fantastic job.

The Challenger also says "Challenger" loud and clear. The first one I saw I had to do a double take, because I thought someone had done some body mods to an old one.

The Camaro though, missed the mark. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome car. It just doesn't say "Camaro" to me.

That's my opinion anyway.

To me, the Camaro screams, "I am a cartoon car-Lightening McQueen!"

IMO again, the problem with the Challenger is that they are huge! Put one next to an original Challenger, it's like a modern F-150 next to our F-1's. They go out at 4,200 lbs, a full 800 lbs more than the old ones. Camaros are just as bad. I'm sure they do real well in crash tests compared to the old ones, but that's what an old Lincoln or Olds used to weigh! Not real sporty IMO.

If U compare this car with others in its class, Camaro,Challenger, even base Corvettes; it is well worth the $$.
Just about a street legal race car.
Am a bit biased since I have one!

My Soli IS a street legal race car! 2.0L turbo'd 260 hp 260 ft# direct chamber fuel injection (computer limited to meet gov regs, can be factory chipped to 350/350 without any mech mods) 2790# 140MPH TS (again E limited) Full 4 wheel IS, adjustable coilovers, Full factory race suspension package (only 23 made) rear is even caster adjustable. 10" wide tires, straight 3" cat back exhaust. Still gets 27 MPG mixed driving. All for 31K. Most fun you can have in a car with your clothes on!

2013 Stang looks great. Don't think I can talk the wife in to trading her 08, though. She loves it.
