New LED light Bar (Wire Splice)

I'm waiting on delivery of a new LED lightbar to be centered under my F-250 tailgate. It has 11 led's that are completely sealed in a red DOT plastic. The screw hole centers are 16 1/8 in. so the holes are already there.
My ? is what wire do I splice into thats in the rear harness behind the spare tire. The Id bar has 3 wires, white for ground, black for running and green for stop. I was going to get one of those testers with the sharp point to see which wire to connect too. I was going to use those blue connectors in the same gauge range as the harness. Am I on the right track? I'm sure some of you have installed some
e running light bars. Thanks

You could just trace the wires coming out of the 7 pin trailer connector, and the cover for the connector will have each wire labeled. Thats what i did

I have 2 of those bars still in the box and both of them came with 4 pin flat connectors you might want to use that

You can tap into one of the license plate light wires for your running light, and there should be a single light green wire (I think it was light green and near the left side) that is intended to be used for a 3rd brake light on a topper. The wire has a black plastic cap over the end to keep it from shorting out.

Don't tap into the brake light wire on your tail light! If you do, you new center brake light will flash when you activate your turn signal....that drives me nuts when I see that.

Thanks, That sounds like the ticket with tapping into the lic.plate wire. It will work in conjuction with the headlight ****. If I find that green wire you mentioned for the stop light that will be even better, but if not, I'll just use it as a running marker light, I'll see if i can find those wires tomorrow...Will update later......
