Very nice Tangi!

Might be worthwhile out here in the desert too!

Nice! You had a real keeper for a Wife!

The last truck that I put one of these on was my 91 F-150. I really liked the looks but I noticed around a 1 mpg loss in fuel mileage. Please let us know how you do mileage wise.

Now go take your wife out for a nice meal as Great Women are tough to find.

Definitely a retro look. Didn't know they still made those.

i think the visor adds a very aggressive look to the truck. they almost look unfinished without em. i see em now and then on 6.4s and the look has grown on me greatly since seeing it on the 6.7 on this thread. i think i want one. do holes have to be drilled? i am interested to know more about the install. also, how is the functionality of the piece? does it help with sun and glare? it appears to have slots at the base where it meets the window. i presume this helps minimize aerodynamic drag....?

I would tend to agree. I forgot how much I liked mine on my Dodge pickups. The paint match really makes it look like it came from Ford too. As far as mounting, I assume it's the same as the ones I did in the past. Under the four plugs on top are four holes for self tapping screws. On the Lund ones I did, there were also small brackets on each end that came around in between where the door and the windshield pillar meet and get two small self tapping screws there screwing in under the factory door gasket. Yes the openings along with windshield help to reduce drag and relieve pressure at high speed. Otherwise it would be like a windsock up there. Another note on installation. My body guy who painted and mounted mine didn't want to drill the roof. He was afraid that I'd want to take it off someday and fixing holes in a roof would be no fun. He only used screws on the side brackets and used some kind of industrial epoxy on the roof. It worked fine for a while but eventually it started to break loose and would make a creaking vibration at highway speed. If I do this, I'll use the screws on the roof this time.

Im very inclined to make this addition to the truck, but fairly hesitant to drill holes at this stage. Anyone know for certain if this particular model requires such holes to be drilled or does it utilize existing provisions?

The guys at Felders Pro shop in McComb installed this for me and did a great job, after I dropped it off and they got into the job , they called and advised me that they had to modify where the holes went through in order to make it fit properly, & yes, I was reluctant to let anyone drill holes in my baby, but these guys have been doing this for years, really seem to know what they are doing.

i guess what im getting at is if this is more of a permanent mod or is the commitment level slightly less. in case for some reason down the road the option were to be removed, would any lasting "damage" be incurred. Do you feel the quality of the parts and materials are sufficient to last the life of the vehicle?

It appears the visor was well enough made from molded fiber glass and with reinforcement areas in the places needed, and should last as long as the truck, but if a person got tired of the MOD and wanted to take it off, of course there would be holes to fill, I anticipate to leave mine on as long as I have the truck.

Looks sharp, glad your happy with it. Any vibrations at interstate speeds? I have seen cases were Visors like this will vibrate at higher speeds causing cracks to form (after a few years) in the roof sheet metal around the mounting holes. Maybe the roof is stronger there now than it was in '99 and '04.

I been looking for one of those and TosaFords sent me over to this thread! Looks great Johnny, is it hollow on the inside? I may want to mount some cab lights onto that to avoid drilling large holes into the roof.
