Does someone have a loose brass radiator laying around they can drop on a scale for me. I think mine is fill of gunk and weighs in at 38lbs. Radiator shops in my area are a thing of the past so I cant have it cleaned the way it needs to be.
I once had about four spare radiators. All were cleaned out and boiled. One of them was heavier than the other three. Likely because of a different core(??).
Oh come on now, just give it the old farm boy special and be done with it.
Drag it out into the dirt next to the drive way, crank the ol garden hose up on high and stuff it into the lower hose outlet. Grab a red rag and smush it in around the garden hose to make a bit of a seal and let it rip. Every once in awhile reverse the flow of water until you get good clean stuff coming out and your're standing in a huge puddle of muddy water.
Now, dry off, got get a frosty beverage and pat yourself on the back for a job well done
its not healthy to overthink a dirty radiator

grocery store variety vinegar w/5% acidity mixed with 5 parts water will give ya a diluted solution of acetic acid to clean out your radiator. Pour that mix into your rad. while laying it down, so none of it escapes, let it slosh around a bit, and then pour it out after 48 hours. That's a cheap version of what a rad. shop would do and charge ya $45.75 in the process. Should clean out all the crud and make the rad. weigh the stock ballpark of 32 lbs.
What!?!?!?!?!
Its supposed to weigh 32lbs???? Crap! I am so screwed....I think mine weighs 33lbs. I'll never be able to drive this on the street..........
