Engine swap

I have an 1980 f1504x4 with a 302 shes a little tired with 289,000 miles when it goes I have a 82 300 i6 how hard is it change over whats involved?

If both are carbed, it is nearly a direct swap other than the motor mount towers on the frame.As long as the ignition is Duraspark II on both of them, which I believe it should be, the ignition will plug in. The engine harness will change a bit, but can be dealt with. Main thing you have to locate is the frame mounts for the I6.

Would also need a radiator wouldn't he? Think the 302 and 300 radiator ports are different on the 2 motors.

Correct...hoses are swapped from the V8's as well as the transmission cooler (if AT)

would also have to deal with the exhaust and other connections to the engine such as fuel and vacuum lines, throttle cable, kickdown (again if AT)....all pretty straight forward.

If you have a doner then it all just comes over with it
