Hey everyone I guess I'm new to the boards but I have been browsing them since I bought my 2003 Excursion EB 4x4 V-10 back in 2010. Made my last payment this month . I paid 17,000 OTD with 58,000 on it. I was happy to find a 4x4 v10 with decent low miles. I bought it at Cal Worthington in Long Beach. Turned out that this was Cal's personal vehicle that he used on his ranch in northern California. Prior to this truck I had a 2006 scion Xb . I never worked/wrenched on my own car until I got my X. I am in the HVAC service trade and have my fair share of tools.

What lead me to this site was the dome override switch! I was out shooting in the desert soon after the purchase of my new X. Left the back gate door open and was playing some tunes and squeezing off some rounds. When it was time leave she wouldn't roll over. Luckily everyone makes sure their trucks fire up before we leave. After a jump headed home bought a Optima red top and found out how to install a dome over ride switch. Current things I have done since owning the truck.

Oil, Oil Filter change (every 3,000)
Fuel Filter (baster to take off)
Rear end oil change
Radiator Flush (2 different times after using prestone and finding out thats a no no )
Dome over ride switch
Bilstein Shocks
285/75/R16 Toyo Open Country A/T
Detail of engine compartment looks brand spanking new

I have a long list of things that I am planning to do. Just waiting on the funds. I will cut the rant off now. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to FTE. I am going to research this dome over ride switch. Sounds like something I can use.

 

Steve ya I got lost on my way over to the chapter. Took me a few months to find my self. As far as the get together goes I will be there already threw a post up over there. Thanks for the link.

Check it out I still can't believe that a car can be made with out a dome override switch.
