Best way to go with a full 4" lift set up for the rear is the shackle flip.
It is the easiest and most reliable way to gain 4+" in the rear.
There are many to choose from in many price ranges.
I have these and have had NO issues at all, those and a 3" AAL and they flex like mad!!
They work great, they give you lift by turning the shackle from pointing up to pointing down.
Ride is much better and you remove ALL blocks including the stock shim (which have a tendency to crack).
It really is the only way to lift the rear of almost ANY Ford truck.
When you do this it will move you axle forward about 1.5"
There are 2 ways to remedy this, first is to move the front hangers back, this means cutting off the rivets, measuring and drilling new holes and bolting them back in.
The other way is Zero Rate add a leafs. Now I know they look like blocks, but that would be incorrect.
They bolt into the leaf pack so they are considered a leaf spring.
There is NO chance these will get spit out (if installed properly)!
This is the way I opted to go FYI.

Oh ok. I see now, that does look like the way to go. How hard is it to do this work? I don't have a frame jack but i will be getting a hitch installed saturday so i can use that. Problem is, i have never done anything like this, will i have to pull brake lines or anything like that? I will probably have to have my brother or neighbor help but for the time being i can only dream.
Shouldn't need to mess with brakes lines for 1.5" Moving the mount is easy, just a PITA. look at your front leaf spring mount. It should have 3-4 bolts IIRC, all you have to do is take that mount off as Raleigh said and slide it back 1.5" and drill new holes, then get some quality bolts and put it all back together.

On the front hanger there is 4 7/16" rivets on each, same with the rear.
Use an angle grinder to cut the heads off and a punch to knock the rest out.
Uuuuuuuuummm ya, so i don't really have an angle grinder... I do have a dremel with a small cutting disk. It works for metal but it might take a while. Also i don't know if i have a drill bit to be able to get through the frame metal. This might be a bigger project than i intended. And as for the 1.5" is that how much lift i get or the movement of the bracket? My aim is for 4" and it doesn't seem this will get me that height that i am looking for.
Few more questions.... Can i use my old leaf springs if i do a shackle flip? And my hangers are rotted real bad, do i need to get hangers for my exact year and model? Or can i use different ones?
The shackle flip will replace the rear hangers, if your front hangers are rotted then replace those.
Any Ford 3" leaf front hanger will work, they are all the same.
thanks....cuz i have a 79 f250, and built a wooden flat bed....built it up pretty high, but when i loaded the bed with stuff, hit a bump and tire rubbed underside of bed....like i said before, the hangers are rotted, but still attached....I need hangers anyway, so hopefully if i do this, no more rubbing.
