Radiator blew

So I hit 40k on my truck yesterday and noticed a leak from my radiator. Took it in and it needed to be replace $2000 later it's back and running fine. Gas anyone heard of this???? I don't tow. Just highway driving mostly. NOT HAPPY

Your base warranty is more than 40K.
What am I missing

Are you in the correct forum?

What is the warranty for a diesel engine radiator?
I was thinking 60k...

Yeah, I thought powertrain was 60k, no?

His garage is an F150 but his avatar is a 2011+ super duty.

I believe the radiator is only covered under the bumper to bumper and ins't that 3/36?

I had the same issue. Needed a new radiator just beyond the 36,000 mile bumper to bumper.

The diesel warranty and the additional diesel care plus extended warranty are very specific in what is covered. Basically, anything bolted to the block and transmission is covered.

Luckily, I only have needed the one radiator so far. I went through 4 on my last truck.

My local dealership and the ford area rep covered about half of my radiator cost for me.

There are so many things that have the potential to go wrong on these trucks. Especially with all of the electronics involved which is the exact reason I paid for the bumper to bumper 125,000 mile warranty for the first time. The repairs to these trucks and the probability that they could happen to me are just too expensive to gamble with.

yup. couldnt have said it better.

i have a buddy with a 6.7, does lots of towing and uses it for a support vehicle for off road racing like the baja 1000. said hes already been thru a radiator as well. my on radiator no.2 on my 6.4 at 56k. my neighbor is on radiator no.4

I have seen 5-6 of them fail so far not a big issue.
