Lots of planning in my head right now but I just never know exactly what until I get to that point.

kind of like the much larger radiator. No clue it will fit until I try.

Now on EcoBoost swap #5!
decided to step it up on this one!
1966 F100 custom cab short bed.
my dream truck a 40+ yr wait to drop in a dual quad 427 FE. That route for 1300 mi then after spending total wasting 5k trying to get it to run proper with the fitech EFI I sold the FE & bought a 1 of only 5 3.5 450/510 crate engines sold by Ford Performance!

Of course it needs to be mated to the new 10R80 10 speed.

truck being around 3700 lbs should run well especially with a proper tune on E50.

if interest will continue to post until on road.

S

started off with #4 of only 5 450/510 crate engines sold by Ford Performance.
stay tuned for more!
this will show how easy it really is to do it with basic hand tools using stock PCM.

Raptor Crate engine swap.

Next up was to buy a donor truck!
it was showing only 27 miles! Appears it may have been crashed on initial test drive by dealer upon predelivery test drive!

hit a parked car @ approx 70 mph.

it flipped and slid a long way in side and roof.

I bought complete truck for 3250 @ auction!

2018 F150 XLT that was loaded.

truck had sat on dealer lot over a year before being sold

3.5 10R80 pretty much a bolt in using stock F150 mounts for engine and slightly modified F150 transmission mount! Tricky part was getting the 1966 column mechanical shift rod to work with the cable shifted 10R80.

should run good!
285/40-18’s in rear so don’t think it will be too bad traction wise.

Managed to fit new 2018-20 Raptor Radiator, condenser & fans onto ‘66 core support. Intercooler fitted too! Pushing hard to see if I can have it driving within 30 days.

Your workmanship is unbelievable. Our special order F150 has been great except for the drivetrain. The 4.6 was always down on power and poor gas mileage, and the manual transmission has too high of 1st gear and never shifted well. How realistic to install a 2.7 eco and 10-speed auto, hopefully using current instruments and climate control? I have a college degree in electronics and can fabricate circuits to generate voltages and pulses, but haven't done much with data buses. Also I have done some aircraft wiring.

This was a few years ago, needs an interior and exterior refresh. Would like to sell the bed and build a camper shell on the frame.
