EcoBoost Powered 1966 F100 Project
I think Tim's point was that the more appropriate forum for this would be the project forum.
I see no problem with dropping updates in here as well since the thread began here and hasn't been moved.
We'll keep this thread open here also so you can update us on your progress.

If this belongs in the projects forum so be it. Threads are moveable and I think the subscriptions will follow it. Is that not right???
Well the link he posted above doesn't work and I assume it went to another thread like this in the Projects forum.
I'm good with updates and new info being posted here. It's a great thread and I'd like to follow the build as well.

Did some digging and found his Build thread in the Projects forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...eco-slick.html
Hasn't been an update since June. Hope this project is still in progress!

I have never CONSIDERED doing a 6 cyl powered project "until" the 3.5L EcoBoost became available. I have actually done very few small block projects and pretty much all of them have been Big Blocks. This one is way out there for me to do.
I was able to get the original wrecked chassis torn down and have started swapping parts to the new chassis. 1st I am cleaning things up before the transfer so things will appear as new at least until the 1st test drive is over. LOL Last evening I was able to get the completed rear axle/springs into the new chassis. The home made cart the chassis is sitting on I have to keep adding weight 1st to front then to rear then more in front etc just to keep it balanced. This way I can easily move the chassis around garage with ease.
I would love to weigh it once the chassis is complete
For instance the Bare Frame weighs 520lbs!
The engine is around 420lbs per a spec sheet but do not know if that includes everything as installed or just long block etc. Trans is prob 200lbs
For the fun of it I started a sheet what each item weighs. The rear axle assembly weights that much that it is very very heavy for 2 people to lift. The rear springs are prob 70lbs each or more . . .
No doubt the Built Ford Tough is coming into play here .
A few pics of the progress.

Below is my question and then what I was told.
Is this engine swap something I could post here on the ecoboost forum?
The reason I asked was I had a TON of what I thought relevant EcoBoost info I was going to post that I thought a non ecoboost person could care less about.
I had very very little interest on the Project Forum so it was simply removed by the mods.

Actually sir, you'll need to post here: Projects - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums. I'm sure we would all love for you to remind us of how your project is coming along with pics, details and all the goodies that you can share.

Status Update
A bit more progress on the EcoBoosted F100
Rear axle and front suspension now pretty well done. I was able to get the Eco engine outside for a quick wash before dropping it into chassis. I 1st need to get tires on it and drop it on floor as getting to be a lot of weight on the cart and would most likely tip forward with addition to the engine/trans combo.
A quick splash of my "MAGIC SOAP" and rinse and the engine and trans look super nice. Still need to do something with the surface rust on the engine mounts.
Fuel tanks appear to be different from the 5.0L to the 3.5 Eco. I do know the fuel pumps are diff and that the Eco runs a higher pressure for the direct injection.
Time to go tire shopping. In order to get a lower profile tire that will look better am thinking on going with the Nitto 255/55R-18 to replace the Stock 265/60-18. Remember I have a 3:15 rear gear & can reprogram the PCM to reflect the new tire size. Anyone have experience with the Nitto tires?
Another reason for the lower profile tire change is the speed rating which is a VR.
A few teaser pics . . .
