I know it is not the exact forum to post this, but there is always so much great info fromt he guys on the 6.0 pages, so I figured I would get some good answers here. I have a 2006 F250 CC 4wd that I need to replace the tires on. There are so many people upgrading wheels and tires that Craigs list has a ton of 20" factory rims and tires for less than I could replace just my 18" tires for. My question is what kind of problems would I have going from 18" to 20" rims? Is it something that could be recalibrated? I would assume the speedo would be wrong, but not sure what else the swap would throw out of balance.
thanks
Not a problem at all if you get a shorter tire for the taller rims the overall height stays the same. For example a LT275-65-20 is (pretty much) the same as a LT275-70-18. No effect on speedometer. All of 'em should be balanced before putting them on your truck so no worries there. If you're looking to go BIG, you'll need a little lift for body clearance, and the speedo' calibration can be changed with a computer.
Here's a nifty, easy to use calculator for tire size and speedo' error. Will give you some idea if the tires your thinking of using makes a difference and how much. Speedometer Calibration Calculator And Information
