I have a 95 F150 4x4 5.0 and need to know what the shocks in front of the coil springs are called. Aft shocks are what Auto Zone and others have but they cannot tell me what the forward ones are called so I can order them. Anyone know off the top of their head??? Joe
No there different rate I'm pretty sure rear shock on dual configuration and single front shocks are the same. Front shocks on dual shocks are different

Yes they are and when I ask any parts place they only list one per side so I think the forward shock has another name for it's purpose and thats what I need to find out, thanks
Wow do I miss my 99 F150. My next project and this looks like it will be is to change the front rotors on my 95 f150. Im having a hard time figuring out what it takes to get them off. Anyone done this lately?? please let me know what it takes and any special tools I'll need, thanks.

Forward or rearward of the front axle, they are still called a shock absorber. Example: Gabriel 77410 is the front shock. Gabriel 77414 is the the one behind the front axle.
As others have indicated these shocks are unique to trucks with the Quad Shock package.
Ya it takes a special socket for the front hubs how do you miss a 99 compaired to these?!
The 99 when it came to changing brakes or rotors was simple, now I have to get a hub socket and still when I watched a video of someone doing this they didn't show how they got the rotor off the hub, will this be another "oh by the way". None the less Im glad to be driving a ford.
It is written for a Bronco, but the process should be the same for your F150. One exception, there will be no tone rings for the 4-wheel ABS, your F-150 has rear wheel antilock, not 4WABS.
Thanks rla2005, the link to show how to separate the rotor really helps. Once again I like my 95 F150 but my 99 was so much easier to change the rotors.
