Ok guys my front shock tower just cracked in half. So...im going to go ahead and upgrade to dual shocks for a little better handling. I have replaced the shock towers before, grinding off the rivits and what not and replacing it, but i was just wondering what all went into this upgrade. The new shock towers from what I can tell run about the same about as the stock ones. Any help would be appreciated.
ok guys, I'm not looking to upgrade the rear shocks, only the front shock towers. I'm going to fabricate the rear mounts myself. What's the cheapest place to find the shock towers for the upgrade?
Save your money and just put the single shock tower back on and QUALITY single shocks. dual shocks on a stock truck is a waste of money
Sorry but I have to disagree with you. I have seen how well they perform on street performance style trucks. It improves cornering like you wouldn't believe. I wouldn't have made the thread if I wasn't serious about doing it.
SO does anyone know were I can fin the coil towers for dual shocks? I really think this would be a nice addition to my f150 project. And BTW im not looking to lift the truck I just want dual shocks for better cornering, sudden braking, ect.

Front and rear sway bars installed (the large "diameter" bar on the front not that skinny one used on some models) that coupled with a good quality set of shocks would aid in cornering/street performance more then a dual shocks setup with no sway bars or that "skinny" bar would.
Dual shock more for off road performance, effects springs compression and rebound rates but mostly rebound, something not encountered in cornering conditions. Least not at a speed (springs rate of movement) need dual shocks to control.
Dual shocks prevents the trucks heaviest end, the front end from bouncing uncontrolled and or blowing "single" shock in the attempt in heavy off road use.
Now days if a "single" shock can't handle it? anything these trucks can handle to start with? buy better shocks.
