My trucks hubs filled up with water yesterday when I was stuck in the stream, I saw the bubbles coming out from around the outside of the hub, I popped the caps off to let it all drain out. Think I should take off the hubs and repack my bearings, or could I just let it dry out and it'll be fine?
i have a noise coming from my front left assembly ... hmm. was hoping itd be as easy as something stuck in the brakes but i dont think it is. when i spin the front driveshaft, only the front right u joints (im not 100% on front end stuff, are the ujoints the things that should spin) spins? i could have sworn usually the right and left spin...
edit: hub was just stuck locked. noise is still there though.. wonder what it could be
The bad EGR and oil cooler might have done the head gaskets in.
Will they put in ARP's for him ?
Also have them update the SCT oil fitting and dummy plugs.
STC (snap to connect) fitting was only an issue on 06-07 trucks IIRC, Andy. I know it's not typically a problem on the 04s which is what Miles uncle's truck is and so is ours.
Thanks guys
I got home a little early to take the kids out to dinner tonight.
Miles I think you are going to have to put in a new oil cooler also.
I did not know what year the truck was as far as the SCT fitting.
If he deletes the EGR he will need a SCT tuner to get rid or the check engine light.
Bulletproof diesel does make an upgraded EGR cooler.
According to what ive read... 03 and 04 doesnt throw a CEL when you delete the EGR. not sure what we are doing with the oil cooler yet. but have a good birthday dinner!

03-04 don't throw any hard codes with the EGR system removed. Our 04 *might* not have any EGR parts on it and the only light on the dash is for water in fuel.

I didn't have time to properly lay up my van before I left, hopefully my brother will take care of that for me or have it taken care of by a shop.
Engine oil
Front & rear differential oil
Transmission fluid
Radiator coolant is past 5 years
My brother said he'd run the engine occasionally.
I plugged the solar panel in to the cigarette lighter this time in the hopes that it keeps the batteries charged. Some might recall that the last time I went to Afghanistan that after a month my batteries were dead flat.
I'm hoping that those batteries died due to age (about due back then) and that the solar panel didn't suck the life out of them.
This time I plugged the solar cell into the cigarette lighter rather than the 12V accessory outlet I used the previous time.
There is a slight voltage difference when I meter the two, I'm thinking there might be a diode (or something) in the feed to the accessory outlet that interferred with the solar cell.
Also back then my aftermarket powered antenna would go stupid when it rained, I have since yanked the wires to it.
