Perhaps look into some stock 98 ford explorer 5.0 manifolds. granted they are not headers but may work and flow decent enough? otherwise it sounds like you may need to build a custom set of headers. i believe summit sells a kit

I even looked at those. There is a set for sale near me. Sadly they will not work.
um yea, you should be using 78 302 mounts. 77 bronco would be the old school bronco and the frame is totally different then the bronco your working with.

did you by chance try the 351m mounts?
351m mounts are different. I tried the '77 bronco, after posting the question on here a long time back. That was one idea someone came up with. Forgot all about the 302 in the '78 2wd.

Just double checked, and they are the same mounts.
This def sounds like its gonna cost more then originally plannned. You might have to look and see how much it would cost to have a set of headers cut and re-welded to fit properly or see if a 2" body lift would give enough clearance. I would rather spend the extra money to do it right first then have to do it later, also it would be wiser and safer IMHO to have modified headers vs modified engine mounts.
Try other mounts as KemicalBurns mentioned first but I'd see about having a set of headers cut and modified.
I'm not sure what is different between yours and my 84 but I was able to find JBA shorties for 351W no problem. I had long tubes on it and when they got crusty I switched to the shorties and instantly it started running like I had originally expected - good low end torque. It was kinda thin down low with the long tubes. I was surprised, having used LTs on 302 fox body with good success in the past.

Good luck,

Those are two completely different frames. The 84 is going to be wider (rails farther apart) for one, plus the bends and cross members are in different places.
