06 f250 6.0l diesel 4x4 supercab. Recently i had to replace the a/c compressor and in the process i unhooked the vacum lines and cant figure out how to put them back together again. I did fix the compressor. Does anyone have a link, pictures or diagram a shadetree mech like myself can understand?
I haven't seen a diagram that I would ever call very helpful. There is a system diagram of the HVAC somewhere, but it really doesn't show where stuff is in the truck.
I have a picture that shows some of the underhood parts. It might be helpful.
It's pretty simple. You can see the short line going from the pump to the can (reservoir). There is a T on the output port of the can. A line goes down (in the picture) and over to the PVH solenoid. Another line comes off of the PVH solenoid and follows the first in the same loom, passing over the T and heading off up (out of the picture) to where it finally drops down to the front axle.
The other line coming off of the T follows the lines to the hub up a little ways and splits off to the left towards the cab, where it goes in through the firewall to the HVAC controls.
Not pictures is the grey line coming back out of the firewall. Depending on the truck, it either goes to the coolant shutoff valve on the heater core coolant hose, or to a dead nipple on the heater core box.
If you don't figure it out by thursday, I will be at my shop and I have a truck with the motor out of it right now. I can get some good pics of how it runs down to the hubs. Either way I will post them in a new thread if you don't need them at the time.
Not preaching but vacum lines and wiring, always label, color code, take pics or whatever to bump the ole noggin on re-assembly. I too have learned the hard way.
Preach all u want! And i know better i was just being stupid and in a hurry! Please send the pictures on thursday. Thank you and im a Texan also. Was born at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock Tx. NOV 7 64. I want to move back cuz im a die-hard Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and recently Rangers fan! I never followed Rangers becuz they were never relevent untill the last few years. But cant get wife to agree.
Im still working on her! Thanx again and talk to u soon.
Hope these help I thought I could get better pics but Just couldn't get very good ones, cause this guys truck is pretty dirty. Maybe tomorrow I can put some color zip ties on the vacumm lines if it will help. Also his lines weren't complete so I had to use PS to draw lines where they were supposed to be.
Does anyone know where the little gray vacume line go, its on the pass side and looks like it plugs into a piece that is in line with a heater hose, I heard this has something to do with the a/c
