Top line menu bar under Articles/Specs has a VIN decoder.
There are additional numbers on driver's door tag that can be decoded for further info.

I have a real tough question, can anybody tell me the what was the first sequence number for the 1965 F100? My 65 F100 is an early production truck. I am wondering what number it is and do not know what number they started with.

Started August 1964 with 580,000
A close guess would be around September 8th-10th build

F10 = F100 2WD
J = 240 1V I-6.
K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.
593658 = 1965, assembled September 1964 / This is your trucks specific serial number.
September 1964 serial number range: 588,000 - 599,999.
Note: These serial numbers apply to ALL series of trucks and Econolines, not just to F Series trucks. Add Bronco's beginning in 1966.
I notice our FTE VIN decoder comes back with 223 6 cyl instead of 240.
You can tell by looking at it, as I recall, however maybe there could be an overlap of these two engines availability in '64. I don't have time to check further this AM, but will later today.
Wow, This is awsome, Thank you so much for the help. Where I live I am surrounded by chevy car guys, and my neighbor is a car guy only. I told him that I love the trucks as much as he love cars. he wants hp for speed we want it for pull power. Nothing like hearing the old gear box of a truck under load. . I got this 65 for a ...are you ready for this....$100.00 that is it. It is unmolested, never altered, all original with original tires and wheels including the spare. No rust, some dings but hey it was used on the farm. The owner used it the first 10 years as his main truck. They traveled in it, camped out of it, then it was used on the farm and surprisingly not all beat to pieces. I posted a couple of photos on my album. It has and was always parked in a lean toon attached to a barn. It is covered in Barn dust, untouched.

Wildone, 22,000 miles you are one lucky man. Please post lots of pictures, interior, under hood, underneath, and outside.

I believe you're correct.
Looks to me like your F100 truck was built in Kansas City, in Sept 1964, the second month of production for the 1965 models.
