Dry road 4wd

I understand that driving on dry roads in 4wd will damage the truck. Exactly what part or parts do you expect to get damaged? Thanks.

All your front end drive line parts are going to be put through lots of stress due to binding. Also the transfer case. Going straight should be no problem, its just turning.

You will not likely break anything just going to put extra stress on the parts...wearing them out faster.

In addition to wearing the parts out faster that steering wheel will give a good fight if you try to turn it. Do you need to have it in 4x4 for some reason or just asking?

I know a guy who blew up his transfer case because he did donuts and he was in 4x4.

Really just wondering how the previous owner of my donor truck managed to destroy both hubs in 121k miles, and curious what else I might expect to be trashed if that was what he did.

Interestingly, I've picked up about 2 miles per gallon since replacing the hubs. All that noise comes from friction, so I guess it makes sense.

Neither. Truck had stock tires and wheels and lived in Texas.

Factory hubs? If so, I'm surprised they lasted that long...

It was an '06, so they are Warn hubs. Searched high and low, but no reasonably priced aftermarket hub available.

May be the former owner of my donor truck. It had a salvage tag on the T-case.
