antifreeze question.

I am doing the coolant flush on my 06 6.0. My question is the only full strength antifreeze I could find is called. FLEET CHARGE. SCA precharged from orileys. Is that ok or do I need to keep looking?

Keep looking, depending on which way your trying to go (coolant types) you have a couple of options. If your trying to stay all OEM your dealership maybe be able to get you a decent price for Ford Gold. I've also found it at a "mom & pop" Bumper-to-Bumper auto parts store.

SCA charged coolants are a no-no in the 6.0. Use Ford premium gold or Zerex G-05.

So I thought that the Ford gold is what was causing the silica drop out when it got flash boiled in the oil cooler?

Flash boiled in the EGR cooler because of insufficent coolant flow from a clogged oil cooler. I'd run Ford Gold or Zerex G-05 (pretty much the same stuff) before I ran a "SCA precharged" coolant that's more than likely going to have to much in it. If you want to get away from the silica charged coolants...Cat ELC-1 would be my choice. That's what I've got sitting in the shop waiting to go into my truck when I do my oil cooler (just need the down time with the truck).

Lots of people running the Ford Gold without issues. That being said, the evidence says that it is more prone to having/causing problems if not properly maintained, and it appears that it can't be overheated or mixed with low pH combustion gas.

I'd check a place like a Kenworth/Peterbuilt dealership, or a TruckPro type of business to see if they've got it. Not sure how close you are to a Caterpillar dealership (St. Joseph I'm assuming)...but you should find it there. I know it comes concentrated...but I think it also comes 50/50.
