Buy mine off of me. Bought it from my neighbor with 28k miles two years or so ago. He didn't drive it much. It now has a little less than 70k miles on it. It's a 2001 4x4 with leather and a 6.8 V10. The interior is very clean and no body rust. Frame has some corrosion that I have been using POR-50 on. It's a NE vehicle so it is what it is. I had the trans redone due to the mechanical diode issue. Did ball joints, u-joints, tie rods, brakes, shocks, most hoses. $11k takes it. I need something smaller to take into the city when it snows. This thing runs solid.

Careful Stewart might lock this thread with talk like that.

Don't know what that's all about but the thread is about a guy looking for a specific truck. Lots of links to trucks from outside the site. Saw something that made me say "why not?". If that's bad, well that sucks.

It was a joke, regarding another thread... Rock on.
Regarding the v10 gas vs diesel argument, You all have opened my eyes and I am now leaning toward the gas. It just seems more practical for my needs right now, but in a few years who knows? Maybe I'll wind up with a 7.3 later on in life. So a V10 it is! (unless I come across a super deal on the diesel!)

I thought I just had to have a diesel. The V-10 is pretty hard to beat.

You won't. lol.
I, too, just wanted a diesel. I was going to get either a crewcab superduty or an ex and couldn't finance anything older than an 04. But having owned mine for about a year, and learning more and more about the diesels, living with one, paying for maintenance, and learning more about the v10 as well, I wish I had at least a $100 a month less payments, $40 cheaper oil changes, and $14.00 cheaper fuel fill ups... i'd trade 100 ft lbs for that and 25% fuel economy.... and get faster warmups on cold mornings and quieter idling as a free bonus. lol.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the smell and sound of diesel, and my truck is a ridiculous powerhouse. No way an 8300 lb truck should be so quick.
But I bought the ex to consolidate 2 vehicles, my daily driven SUV and my work truck, so I wouldn't have to keep up insurance, registration, and maintenance on both. And looking back, I don't feel like I got very far ahead in that respect. The ex does everything I ask it to, but for what I bought it for I could have got a '00 v10 F350 reg cab and an expedition or even a v10 ex. lol.

I just got a good deal on my first 7.3 EX! Trying to sell the V10 i have now...too bad you are a long way from WI!
You will love the V10 for everything but fuel economy.
Moneys came through!!! I have about 8k now, and I'm scouring Craigslist. I've found some up a little north of me that look pretty damn good! Here are a couple, I want to go shopping for one this weekend
Guy just called me back about this one, said the lowest cash he would take is $7500 and the truck just turned 169k miles. (no leather) hahaha, nice gadgets on it but i don't think so.
He also said he just had huge tune up done to it (shocks, wheel hubs, two new nitto's on the back)
Whatever the market will bear. A good deal can be had, just have to look a bit. Ideally you have been scouring ads for a while so you have a good feel for what's been on the market.
I like the black one, looks like it's had some $$$ spent on mods, could mean he kept up with the rest. Of the others, I like the low mile white truck. Have to see them in person of course.
I would advise to NOT get the 5.4 with what you want to tow.
