If you go to guage mode and go one position in you get oil and trans temp, One more in and you get a compass. There is one more position in but when you go there, nothing??? Any ideas>???
I think it's blank for being able to make the screen dark at night if the glare/brightness bothers your eyes while driving. You can dim the dash lights, go to that blank screen, and shut off the big nav screen and have a nice dark cab for those long nights on the road.
However, I do wish that it had another purpose. They really need to make apps like we can get for our smartphones to add some fun stuff to the system.
I've always wondered what this blank screen is for. I've also wondered why the truck does not allow our changing the guage dislpay to allow viewing of systems other than Oil and Trans temp. Oil Pressure for example - this is the first car/truck I've owned in at least 25 years that does not have an Oil Pressure guage.

While previous models had an oil pressure guage, the actual sensor is just a pressure switch. It moves the needle to "normal" at about 6 lbs of oil pressure. That is it.
They could use that screen to tell us which tire is the issue instead of making us run around to each tire only to fail on the third one and start over again.
If a $10,000 kia can do this, I know a super duty programmer can add this to our trucks that are a bit above $10,000.
Reasonable; yes, no?

I agree. I also think it would be very useful and easy to add some more parameters to the screen that just shows coolant temp and oil temp. How about Secondary Coolant System temp, oil pressure, EGT, intake air temp (after intercooler), to name a few? This does not seem difficult since the parameters are already in the computer.
