now that I take a closer look I count 9 holes.... I also noticed it for 94 to early 99 for the 2 inchers. So did they change the bolt pattern in 99 for the 3 inchers? Guess I can give them a call and see if they are compatible. What I'm trying to do is is go with 3" plenums and a 6.0 cooler. I'll do a little researching on x pipe designs and just build my own.... I want this all to fit correctly.

No, there are a ton of people running Chris Lahmon's pipes. They are top quality.

The '97 7.3's can use the '00-'03 7.3 intake plenums. There will be an extra hole, but it will be covered and sealed with the newer plenum.

There's no extra holes

94-95 use 2" with 8 holes
96-E99 use 2" with 10 holes
L99-03 use 3" with 10 holes

94-95 with 8 holes can not use the 10 bolt plenums without modifications to the plenum because there is not boss in the head and they will leak thru the extra bolt holes.

And what is the 7.3 rated for? I'm sure Ford never expected much over 20-25 psi for any of their 7.3 motors.

dont mean to get in the middle, but I think he is assuming that the aluminum ones can go well over 40 psi if the plastic ones are rated for it?

Not sure but the aluminum one I have I capped it and pump it to 60psi. And left it over night to check it for leaks

Ok well you and Blue Mule here are confusing me a bit.... I mainly just wanted to use them for the 3 inch capability then I am not limited on the spyder and can use a 2000+ SD 3" spyder correct? going to 3 inch I figured would allow for greater flow at a lower pressure not over spinning the turbo.... simply(P1*V1)/T1 at the compressor = (P2*V2/T2) at the intake. Since the density of the air is increasing the T2 and P2 is decreasing at the intake, naturally this seems to be easier on the compressor but I could be wrong.

Well do you have his contact # or username I can PM him. The 6.0 CAC inlets and outlets are 3" correct? It would be nice to get a set of 3" pipes made instead of having to neck them down.

???

I have a 97 so why would this effect me in this case.... And I'm confused why the 94 and 95 are different than the 96 and 97.... according to his listing the 2 inch setup work for 94-97 so if this were true wouldn''t there need to be a selection for 94-95 and 96-98.

And how would there be a leak at the bolt holes if they are covered? I would be more concerned not having the clamping pressure to seal the manifold if I did not utilize all the required holes to seal correctly.

Ford Powerstroke 7.3L Diesel 1999-2003 turbo intake Y-pipe - big | eBay
That won't work. it's 3" but it won't fit your turbo. It has to be a spyder from an early 99

well was the 99 a 3 inch.... if not then I guess there is no point in trying to go with 3 inch plenums...guess the only way to go about it is to build your own.... Unless I am missing something here...
