Well I'm back from town. And I got pic's. It be a day or so before I can put them up. She looks like a 78 with round head lights. Got serious cancer in all the normal places. I didn't get to talk to the owner but was told it ran when parked. And it looks like some air in a couple of tires a battery and gas and it could be driven. Tail gate is parts and back window is gone. There is an extra grill leaned up by it. Looks good but the inserts are broke.
Looks to be a 351m/400 with a C6. Did Ford use the C4 in the Bronco in 78?

No not a C-4, if it is an auto it is a C-6 if it is manual it is a t-18 4speed UNLESS the owner modified it to take a c-4 without exploding. The motor is probably a 351. If it has the letter S i think in the vin for the engine code that is for a 400 i think. I don't remember so well.

Well the hood opened up fine. I had to use the old Ford slap on it. Where ya pull the latch with one hand and bang the top with the other. Popped right open.

Haha sounds about right, i wish that was the case for mine. Mine the spring is messed up so it angles inward and doesn't push it up I have to pull my latch and pull up the hood at the same time. My problem is the latch i put on was for a f-100 or 150 not for the bronco... The grill on mine got in the way so i had to cut a slat out which is why there is a big hole. I need a whole new grill and front trim though, mine is all beat up and bent.

Hey that just gives it class. If it was all shiny and custom new looking ya wouldn't want to get it dirty or take it off roading and take a chance of scratching or denting her. It would than be what we call a "no go show boat". On the other hand with a few blemishes it just looks like it gets used and enjoyed.

Yup, kinda how TGM looks. Not much rust but a few dents and gouges. I hate to see that front trim dented and bent cause it makes the plastic trims not fit right but it is better than no trim.

I will see if I can get the outer grill shell I saw today for you. I could see nothing wrong with it. It's got the round light in it.

I wouldn't mind a round light conversion, my problem was having parts. I found a pickup at the JY but they were rusty and it took me over an hour to pull one bezel. I still bought it but didn't want to pull the other so i gave up.

I just checked the pic's on my camera. And I am not sure that either grill will take either headlight. They both look the same and the one that is out has no headlights and looks like it would take the square one. I'll try and post up pic's tomorrow when the boys are in school. It's such a pain to do that. Guess I could learn to use photo bucket.

Whoa Bud!! I just checked my mileage after putting on the Warn locking hub's.

9 MPG and I did not even try to get good mileage. I in fact passed three rigs hard, like hard into the 4 barrel and hammered her on the trip home loaded with grocery's. And maybe a bit of Bourbon

Dylan I put some pics of the 78 sister ship in the bronco pic thread. What ya think?
