ECT is acting up...

lately i have been seeing my ect hit 200 degrees give or take a few after about a 30 minute drive of highway and city mixed.. i dont like to see it but should it cause a concern.... the thermostat hardly has 5000 miles on it... my deltas do act up a bit ive seen as high as a 30 degree delta... my egr cooler is gone tho so the oil temp isnt really my concern as much as the ect... im thinking that maybe the oil cooler is getting so clogged that maybe it is restricting coolant flow... imma throw in a new thermostat soon when i do my blue spring... im just wondering if maybe it is my radiator... i dont know how to tell.... i dont want to be building up pressure and lose a hose... any imput guys... thanks alot!

30 degrees? hole catchow, batman! i tink ur oil cooler is going or getting on its last leg.

if ur concerned bout the radiator or silicates in general, install a coolant filter. tat will definitely help.

dont mind me for asking...... wats a stc fitting fix? why dont u jus install the updated one? i did and mine's running like a champ.

wats a dummy plug and standpipe seal fix? is it like super glue and stuff? if u installed the updated parts, then disregard my ramblings. lol.

200 isn't a bad ECT the fan doesn't even kick in till ~ 215 IIRC. seeing 200 deg is not that bad. As for the 30 deg delta, i'm not with everyone else on that. Just cause you don't have an EGR cooler doesn't mean you shouldn't care about the oil cooler. Yes there is a little more room for wigle there, but I still say if your seeing deltas of 25-20 degrees than you should consider replacing the oil cooler, and a good flush before the change. As for oil cooler blocking flow you don't have to worry about that it's on a different coolant path than the rest of the truck. The coolant flow for the oil cooler goes from the water pump, to the oil cooler, to the EGR cooler, and back to the degass bottle via the intake.

and by stc fix and stand pipe fix i do mean the upgraded ones... sorry for the confusion

LSA i guess you haven't towed in the summer , i saw 210 today with only 7600 behind my truck and oil 215. Seeing 200 is not bad your thermo is working for sure.
