welcome to FTE. check red wire going to solenoid from ignition switch and also large wire coming from battery to starter. battery ground is also a 'first on the list' check item.
i checked it their both good so far but the guy at autozone told me that in the pic that it doesn't have a ground wire but i thought it did need one if u want it'll be faster if u wanna txt me if u got txtin send me ya number.

sorry i just meant the ground wire off the battery is one you need to check. the starter
is grounded to the engine.
but how is the starter grounded to the engine if it only has the red line running to the cylinoid but of course bolted to the engine if that wat u mean. and everything is tight.
so what is your ground cable attached to? Is the solenoid (really a starter relay) clicking when you turn the key? can you turn the engine with a wrench?
it'll turn over with a wrench so its not locked up and there's not a ground wire from the battery jus the hot wire but there is one that comes from the block to the battery terminal? and it wont click at all.
ok assuming the wiring is 84, check for battery voltage at the soleniod at the small terminals. one is battery voltage when you turn the key to run and the other is a constant ground. A redneck way of making the starter crank is to touch a screwdriver between the 2 large terminals but this usually creates sparks and around a battery that a bit dangerous, better off using a remote starter if available.
What everyone is trying to say, is to clean all the electrical connections. All it takes is a little corrosion to prevent enough electricity from going to the starter. Disconnect every connection and wire brush it clean before reconnecting it.
