Ok, I am new to this Forum and have tried searching for answers to no avail. I have a 1976 F250 highboy, fulltime, auto, 360. It has one wide stripe and one narrow stripe just under the window line that surrounds the middle section of trim down the side of the truck and the same type stripes on the hood. I believe that it is an explorer package but I am missing the box emblems and hood ornament.
What I am looking for is: 1) Do I have an explorer? 2) If so, what hood ornament and box emblems do i need, I have checked several catalogs and they show 2 to 3 different styles and 3) Does anyone have any photo's of what the "stock" truck should look like. I am in the process of restoring the pickup and wish to return it to how it came from the factory.
I know that this has possibly been discussed in the past but I can't find what I am looking for. Also, does anyone know where I can decode my build sheet or fender tag. Thanks.
You could get the OEM manual on CD for your truck from the online store "parts shop" in the upper right corner. The CD has brochures that show some of this stuff.
Mil1ion, Thanks for the pic but that is not the stripe package I have. I finially got a pic in my gallery of the front of my truck showing the stripes.
Also, I am aware that they still make the hood emblem and the box emblem but before I make a purchase I need to know which ones to buy because they show several different styles for the same years. Thanks and be sure to check out my truck in my gallery. Not much yet, but there is more to come---someday.
