4 speed question
hello once again. i have a question on my 4 speed stick tranny. my 1985 f-150 4x4 has 300-6 but it also has an iron manual tranny. its called big stick. a freind told me that that tranny was from a somewhat rare older ford truck called big stick. is this true or did mine just come out with that tranny? this tranny also has a plate on the side that a person can remove and add something there that will run hydralic equipment, according to same freind. this tranny is very low geared in first thru third. fourth is alittle higher so i can at least go 60mph. faster down hill. now to give you an idea of the low gearing, i can idle up hills in first and i can drive 15-20mph in 4th with out killing motor or having lifter knock. any ideas?

well you do have lots of info but i still dont think i found what i have. i crawled under my truck and wire brushed all the grease and dirt off the side. and what i am coming up with is this:

4 speed question
i've got a question about that picture, the t18/19, the 300/4 speed i yanked from my 84 has what looks to be a T18 in it but the switch for the backup lights is in the front of the top cover, not to the rear like in that pic. do you know what it is?
