There are a bunch of threads concerning the Centurion Bronco conversions... but here is a question I dont think has been asked or answered... but I may be wrong.
Are they actually Bronco Conversions or do they just look that way? Like, is it just because of the removable top that it is a bronco conversion? The reason is I was told that there was NEVER a 2WD bronco... but I just saw on EBAY that there is 2WD Centurion.
The Centurians were based off the frames from crewcab F-150's and F-350's so any drivetrain could have been used. The put the bronco bed and bed cover and rear seat on the crewcab truck and blamo its a centurian. Remember the bronco shared 95% of the same parts with the F-150, so was is based off a bronco or not? You be the judge.
I only know of one 2wd bronco, but it wasnt a factory job. Ford made a one-off Bronco Lighting between 93-95. It was given to thier vp?. I forget who exactly it was, but I know it existed.
Thats the point, unless you had someone to call at the plant, you should not have been able to get a 2WD bronco. I mean, you could pay people enough to custom build one there at the plant, it happens in Europe. Why would you want one anyway??
Man if you had a badass 2WD Bronco, you could load it up with 25" dubbs, hot pink underbody lights, snake eyes on the hood, 5 or 6 TVs, 10-speed bike tires, and a 4" body drop. You could dodge potholes and pretend they were slalom poles!!!!! I'd pay extra for that!!!!!!
