A couple of years ago I had the ball joints replaced on my 2000 f-250. Since then I have been greasing them with valvoline synthetic grease. I recently ran out of grease. I was thinking of switching to amsoil water resistant grease. This is what I use on my jetskis and trailer. Is there any problem with mixing the two greases in the ball joints? It would be nice to only have one grease for everything.

You should know what the thickener is for each one. Amsoil just changed the formulation for their water resistant grease and it is a calcium sulfonate complex. I don't know what the valvoline synthetic is. You could call/email tech at Amsoil for compatibilty.
Generally all synthetic lubricants are mixable with the dino stuff just fine. If you have the old package you can read the fine print.
Per my knowledge the ball joints don't require synthetic.
Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure if the synthetic grease has advantages over the dino stuff like the motor oil does. The mechanic that installed the ball joints used a red colored grease so it may be mixed already. I know I switched my jet skis to amsoil 2 stroke oil and I noticed a performance improvement right away. I thought I would give there grease a try.
