Oil Additives

Anyone using an oil additive ? when I bought a gal. of optilube the guy was saying something about a zinc additive that extends the life of the oil .He also said something about the detergent effect of each oil change stripping the metal and this stuff counters this along with combating the oil dilution from regens?

oil

use rotella 5w40 synthetic and change at 7500 miles. 220,000 miles and no problems.

If you use a good "quality" API approved oil, you will never need an additive. I run Mobil 1 5w-40 5k changes.

read up on additives and don't like what I saw,gonna skip the additives!
