If it don't get cold where you live, you can do this with no effects on a stock truck. The only things the EBPV does is help the truck warm up on cold mornings.
I do have a tune on my DP-TUNER that allows me to close the EBPV to help slow the truck down on hills.

I live in a cold climate, and I completely deleted it. (Non-EBV Pedestal and removed the flapper from the exhaust housing.
No issues this winter, I just let it run for a couple minutes when it was really cold, and drive it easy (under 2k rpm) until the oil starts warming up.
